Special issue information:

In this special issue, “Diversity in Anatomical Education,” we explore the multifaceted approaches that enrich the teaching and understanding of anatomy.

Diversity in anatomical education encompasses various dimensions, including innovative pedagogical strategies, integration of technology, cultural competence, and inclusive curricula that address the needs of diverse learner populations. By embracing these aspects, educators can enhance student engagement, improve learning outcomes, and prepare future healthcare professionals to serve diverse communities effectively.

This collection brings together original research articles, reviews, and case studies that highlight successful implementations of diverse educational practices in anatomy. Topics include issues of diversity, equality, and inclusion with respect to anatomical learning resources, anatomy students, and anatomy educators, covering also the incorporation of cross-cultural perspectives, inclusive anatomical terminology, and strategies to support underrepresented groups in anatomical sciences.

We hope this special catalyses ongoing discussions and developments in creating a more inclusive and effective anatomical education landscape.
